Petro-Clean
(Catalog # RP-111)
General Information - MSDS

Petro-Clean was developed, working in conjunction with the Atascocita Volunteer Fire Department of Atascocita, Texas. The objectives we were trying to accomplish was first, reduce the safety hazard associated with petrochemical spill. Secondly, we wanted the product to remediate the contamination to protect the environmental and finally we wanted the application to be convenient for the fire fighters.
Petro-Clean accomplishes all of these objectives and is economical.

This special combination of ingredients is designed to treat hydrocarbon spills and works as follows: First the volatilization tendency of the hydrocarbon is suppressed.
This action serves to retard the ability of the hydrocarbon to ignite. Secondly, once sprayed on a spill and water is added the hydrocarbons are emulsified and encapsulated into small droplets. This action not only significantly increases the surface area of the hydrocarbon but as more water is added, the hydrocarbon droplets are separated. The microbes and nutrients in the solution attach to the droplets and immediately begin to digest the hydrocarbons into carbon dioxide, water and cell material. The end result is a product that renders a hydrocarbon spill safer for fire fighting personnel and cleans up contamination released to the environmental.

When heavier contamination occurs or when a faster remediation is desired, specifically designed microbes for petrochemical hydrocarbons are aerobic (requiring oxygen) and are non-spore forms, they must be added dry. This special microbic blend is also available from Chemical Solutions.

Petro-Clean, when used as directed will reduce ignition tendency, remove slippery residues from the road, and eliminate the rainbow sheen associated with hydrocarbon contamination in water.

APPLICATION:
To clean up hydrocarbon spills, dilute solution as described bellow. Spray or pour on affected area and rinse with copious amounts of water. Always apply, wash or rinse in compliance with Federal, State and Local laws.
